Suzy Home Maker - That's Me!

Last year for Christmas all I wanted under the tree was a sewing machine.  Family members looked at me as if I had 2 heads!  "A Sewing Machine?" , I heard in disbelief.  Yes a sewing machine.  I want to start making my own clothes. What is this such an outrageous concept?  That being said, I have just taken the thing out of the box!  I had to bring it to a fabric store to teach me how to thread it becasue the directions seemed to be written in Japanese.  What is a bobbin and why do I need that?  So I got my first lesson and a small scrap of fabric to practice on and this weekend I took on my first major project.  Kitchen curtains.  It took me all day and a good part of the evening but WOW, they really look great!!  It was a lot of fun and so satisfying.  I have alot of fabric left over so I am thinking of making a skirt for my next project.  There is no stopping me now!  Project Runway here I come!
